About
Born and educated in the Niagara Peninsula, Darlene Monroe spent her earlier career teaching both elementary school and extracurricular visual art. From 1969-1989 she was also an award-winning studio and functional potter whose work is in international collections.
Primarily self-taught, she finds altering, manipulating and combining various media gives her the strong voice she seeks in her work.
She has been involved in arts activities throughout the Golden Horseshoe as teacher, director and exhibiting artist for thirty years and has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Ontario and New York State.
